Westeros is already ripped to shreds and the armies there have weakened tremendously after the war of the 5 kings. Only when all humans are united and standing together can they have a shot at winning over the WW. Remember Jon’s speech to the wildling elders in Hardhome. This Dothraki army may be the only thing aside from dragons that could stop the WW. The Dothraki may be savages but they are also one of the most powerful, if not THE most powerful, army humans could ever have. The real matter at hand here is the battle of Dawn between humans and WW. Ultimately what matters is not the iron throne or who becomes king. Think about it in terms of the finale of GOT. Maybe the introduction of Aegon was a way in which GRRM partially sates the readers wait for a returning Targ as he has no plans on Dany ever going back there? At this point, I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if she doesn’t go to Westeros at all which would be a bit anti-climactic but is beginning to make more sense as other than her “birthright” what is there actually there for her? She has no allies, no one wants her back and she’d have to invade with a foreign army. I’m starting to think that there isn’t going to be the time in her story to do it all justice with the rest of Westeros seemingly on the brink of the final act. If she comes into Westeros surely she’s going to have to have her relationships with any allies she has there ( Dorne, the North or whoever) fully explored. Jon is poised for his story to enter it’s end game: Dany looks nowhere near. I worry that with Dany wandering back east again she’s going to be out of position. I like them but I don’t see why they need to be revisited? To go through the whole ‘Dany earning thier respect’ thing again could prove quite tedious. She would be giving the warring factions there the reason they need to put aside their differences to unite against her. Can’t imagine Westerosi welcoming pillaging, rapey barbarians from overseas with open arms. If we do, then Dany will ahve learnt nothing from her (very long) time spent in Mereeen. I fully believe we will never see a Dothraki set foot in Westeros…with the possible exception of Dany’s bloodriders. They were an interesting and important part of Dany’s story before but I don’t see what purpose they’ll serve going forward.

Still don’t see the need for Dothraki again. I also think the themes and events (although complicated as these situations are) they needed to be presented clearer and crisper. Slaver’s Bay was messy and we still haven’t got a clear finish to it yet.

My issue isn’t with the parrallel, it’s with the execution. I wouldn’t go that far as I think her time in Slaver’s Bay was theoretically good as it showed her that there is a big differene between being a conquerer and being a ruler and should have taught her that you can’t come in and force a culture on people ( as just as that culture appears to be to her and indeed us readers/viewers eyes) and expect it to go well! Naufahu shared this photo of him with fellow new addition Diogo Sales: More Dothraki news and light spoilers after the cut!ĭothraki filming in Belfast continues this week. Thanks, Greenjones, for letting us know it’s been updated! Strange that is said another ASOIAF character first, but anyway, Jhaqo makes more sense. Update: cut to a few hours later…and now Naufahu’s CV says he’s playing Khal Jhaqo. They were Drogo’s riders who broke off to form their own khalasars after the khal could no longer ride, in the book A Game of Thrones. It’s also possible the show is just using Moro’s name for another book character like Jhaqo or Pono. It’s unclear at this point whether the character Naufahu is playing is a further developed version of that Moro (perhaps based on something from The Winds of Winter) or if Game of Thrones has borrowed the name for a Dothraki character of their own. In the ASOIAF novels, Moro is a briefly mentioned khal who is allied to Drogo and attends the presenting of Daenerys to Drogo.

We’ve done a little digging, and have discovered that according to his RedEleven agency CV, the actor will be playing the role of Khal Moro. It was commonly speculated he would be playing a Dothraki khal. When the casting of Joe Naufahu was announced a month ago, Deadline confirmed the actor had a “multi-episode arc” on Game of Thrones but his character name remained a mystery.
